Lead Upper Elementary Guide

Annie Carr, known by her Students as Ms. C, is VMS’s Lead Upper Elementary Guide. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters in Teaching from the Corcoran College of Art & Design, Ms. C has dedicated her career to championing the arts and education––first as a teacher in the DC area (working with public schools, the Smithsonian, and local organizations), and later as a member of a nonprofit dedicated to securing support for arts programming in NYC public schools. In 2022, Mrs. C came to VMS as an Elementary Aid and our Arts & Socratic instructor before becoming the Upper Elementary Lead Guide. She is currently completing her Upper Elementary Montessori certification through the Barrie Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies. 

In her free time, Ms. C enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons, dogs, and chickens; cooking; and exploring the woods around her home. As a life-long potter, her home ceramics studio buzzes with activity during the summer. Ms. C loves sharing this passion for clay with her students during the school year.
